Poor little plants

Well the seeds did finally sprout. I had about 15 little plants. Sadly a miscommunication in the watering schedule has them very wilted. Not sure if they will make it.

Well I did manage to get a few gourds last year from my plants. I tried to grow some this year, but my seeds have yet to do anything. I'm pretty sure they are toast at this point. I might try a new set of seeds...

Little flowers

I've had my fisrt blooms on the gourd plants, and was lucky enought to have both male and female bloom at the same time. I used a paint brush to help nature alone so I'm hoping all my efforts will produce at least 1 gourd this season!

And away they go!

Well my gourd plants have taken off and are threatening to take over the pots they are planted in. I think they are mini jewelry gourds, but you would never know by the size of the plants!

Growing

Well I'm trying to grow some gourds again this year. I have seedlings going at the moment. I was worried there for a bit because I had 25 little seeds planted and only 1 sprouted, but another 8 have poked their little heads out. Just waiting for them to get big enough to move to the pots. I'm trying for small banana gourds and jewelry gourds this year. Wish me luck! I'll try and remember to post some pictures.

I?ve found I don?t like to gourd in a messy area.

Does anyone else feel this way I wonder? The problem is: I?m a messy artist! I get paint/dye/dust on my hands (the mess is worse if I wear gloves) on my desk, on my clothes, just about everywhere, So I have this endless circle of gourding up a mess. Waiting for the gourd fairy to magically come and clean my studio. Giving up on the fairy and cleaning and organizing all over again. Perhaps if I make my own fairy (kind of like Gepeto) it will come to life and help with the clean up?
